DECADENCE VINTAGE FAIRS

I have just had a glimpse of some of the fabulous vintage frocks that Fussy Galore Vintage Clothing will be bringing to the Totally Bazaar Christmas Vintage Fair this Sunday and I can't wait to see if the black lace number is in my size! Fussy Galore was with us at the Winter Wonderland Vintage Bridal Fair last Sunday so this will be the second time in a week that she has made the journey from Dublin to Belfast with a car packed full of vintage. I can't help thinking that her load is going to be a lot lighter on her way home!

I am delighted that Aideen McCaul of Curiosity Cured will be exhibiting with us for the very first time this Sunday 11th December at the Totally Bazaar Christmas Vintage Fair, selling a gorgeous range of vintage fashion and accessories as well as handcrafted jewellery. Check out this fabulous photoshoot of hers by photographer Louise Smith - it is just the cutest! And all the lovely vintage pieces and Curiosity Cured jewellery will be available to buy this Sunday so come on down and join in the fun!

Our latest Frock Around The Clock Vintage Fair took place on Sunday 6th November - the day that the MTV EMAs came to town! I think that we lost a lot of our young vintage fans to celebrity-spotting activities but we did get many new visitors and plenty of 'out-of-towners', some from as far as Amsterdam! We had a fab day and the craic was great as usual. Thank you to all our wonderful exhibitors and all the lovely people who came along and supported us on the day, and big thanks also to Della Storm, Geoff Hatt and Matt McElhinn . Here are a few of my favourite images from the fair.

This gorgeous 1940s/50s plum velvet evening gown from Norma Jean Vintage ticks all the fashion boxes with its fashionable rich jewel colour and luxe fabric. But unlike anything seen on the catwalk this season, no-one else is going to have one like it! Imagine making a movie star entrance at your Christmas party in this little beauty! Available at Frock Around The Clock this Sunday.
Other fashion-forward vintage pieces available from Norma Jean Vintage include these fab tartan and leather jackets.

I love it when Mary from Granny's Attic goes on one of her buying trips to New York as she always finds the most gorgeous vintage pieces for our fairs. On her most recent trip she found lots of 1950s prom dresses and signed costume jewellery so I can't wait to visit her stall at Frock Around The Clock on Sunday 6th November. Here are a few of her finds from the Big Apple.

Norma Jean Vintage will have something to suit everyone at Frock Around The Clock this Sunday. With everything from vintage frocks to handcrafted jewellery, retro glassware to chintzy china and bridal accessories to collectable handbags, there will be plenty of choice whether you are looking for a gift for a loved one or for something fabulous to treat yourself.

Yesterday we made our first trip to the new Diamond Dolls (www.diamonddollsdreamjewels.com) store in Banbridge with high expectations. Owned by Brenda Part, the original Diamond Dolls boutique in Moira is one of our favourite shops with a high glitter and sparkle factor so we knew that the Banbridge branch of Brenda's business would be out of this world, and not only were we not disappointed, we were totally blown away!

Located in an old bank building Diamond Dolls occupies a large, bright, airy space and the whole place reflects Brenda's impeccable taste down to the very last detail. Sympathetic to the original bank building Brenda has retained the original black and white tiled floor, carved plaster covings,  and echoed a theme of stone pillars throughout the store from hollowed out pillars with glass display shelving to stencilled pillars on the walls of the dressing rooms which are located in the old bank vaults.

Far from being austere, the interior of Diamond Dolls has an atmosphere of glamour and decadence owing to the abundance of large mirrors, gilt cherubs, rich drapes, French cabinets, black and silver chairs, and rugs studded with diamantes. The perfect backdrop for the fabulous stock which ranges from smart day frocks to sexy cocktails dresses and stunning red carpet gowns, perfectly blended with vintage jewels and accessories. Brenda is also now stocking the fabulous Stop Staring range of vintage 1940s/50s style dresses for glamorous pin up girls. There is something here for everyone with prices from £15 to £500. Behind a crystal bead curtain is the Diamond Dolls bridal room which is home to both vintage and designer sample wedding dresses as well as a beautiful collection of vintage head dresses and other bridal accessories.

Diamond Dolls is located at 50 Bridge Street, Banbridge and is open from 10.30am to 5pm Tuesday to Friday, and 10am to 5pm on Saturday. Brenda will also be attending our next Frock Around The Clock Vintage Fair at Bellinis in Newry on Sunday 11th September.
