We are delighted to be joined by Joanne Mensah of Roundtower Interiors for the first time at The Retro Rooms Show on 4th March. Joanne specialises in sourcing previously loved items of furniture, then restoring and restyling them so they may be cherished once again. All pieces are hand finished using the finest laquers, in addition to paints in Farrow & Ball colours, and each piece is totally unique. Add Comment Stephanie Tanney, the talented woman behind Bee Vintage and the organiser of Belfast's Craft Cavern, will be back at The Retro Rooms Show on Sunday 4th March with a fabulous range of vintage and restyled furniture and homewares. We love her use of bright paint colours to bring classic pieces of furniture back to life! Here are some images of her stand at the last Retro Rooms Show in 2011. We loved artist Christine Gorman's work which she exhibited at Frock Around The Clock earlier this month so I'm delighted that she will be taking part in The Retro Rooms Show on Sunday 4th March. You can view more samples of Christine's work on her Off-One website. Her distinctive artwork uses various images, text, print and pattern to create a combined mixed-media collage, and each picture is unique using modern and vintage materials. Christine's artworks and bespoke furniture can be commissioned to create a personalised piece. Persian born interior designer Mahvash Graham will be joining us at The Retro Rooms Show on Sunday 4th March for the first time, exhibiting occasional furniture and upholstery, handmade cushions and curtains. Our friends over at Ugly Duckling were inspired by Halloween decorations and things that go bump in the night when they revamped this dated mahogany table. Featuring distressed red wine coloured paint and a pattern of sleek black skulls, this gothic-style table will be making its debut at Frock Around The Clock on Sunday 6th November so if you are looking for a piece of furniture to make a strong statement in your entrance hall this could be the one! It nevers fail to surprise me that all the creative designers at our vintage fairs all produce very different work. We have a few exhibitors who restyle old and tired furniture, yet they all have very different looks. Some are funky, some have a distinct retro feel, but Liz from Creme de la Creme creates pieces with a very pretty, feminine touch. These photos from our August Frock Around The Clock event give a taste of what to expect this Sunday at The Retro Rooms Show. The Sew What Interiors shop in Castlewellan now boasts a new vintage department and I love these pics of their latest stock which has arrived just in time for The Retro Rooms Show this Sunday! I Do Cartwheels is a design studio based in Comber, County Down, founded by local furniture designer Donna Bates. Donna searches for old and forgotten pieces and sympathetically restores or repurposes them. She works with classic pieces of furniture, alongside more challenging finds, to bring special character to a contemporary living space. These photos are of an armchair from Donna's Parker Knoll Bird range, called 'Bullfinch-Knoll'. She will be including more Modernist / bird-inspired pieces at next Sunday's Retro Rooms Show at a special reduced price exclusive to Retro Rooms customers! I love these travel-themed tables from Emily Loves Vintage, which will be available to purchase at The Retro Rooms Show on 2nd October. This sweet little table has been painted in a lovely heritage colour called Wedgewood Lilac and collaged with old pages and a vintage Paris picture, while the second has been painted in aged white and a little eau de nil and then distressed before being decoupagedwith vintage travel images and postcards. Also available will be some bookshelves in a similar style. I love the 'Wicked' stool by Lorna at Vintage Revival. Being something of a Dorothy / Wizard of Oz fan I think I might have to make a space in my home for this. Lorna will be selling her upcycled furniture designs at The Retro Rooms Show on Sunday 2nd October and here are some of her latest creations (but the last image of the Marilyn table has already been sold and is now in my dining room!) |
